Please allow us to extend our sincerest well wishes to you and your families, coworkers, and friends as we all navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are members of the same local, state, national, and international communities. While it is certain that the world will survive, the human and economic costs are uncertain. Please stay safe.

As always, business owners must lead the way by diagnosing and solving the problems COVID-19 presents. We are here to help you wherever we can to confront, survive and solve these challenges.

We are open for business

Law firms are “essential businesses” under the Updated Public Health Order 20-24 issued on March 26, 2020 by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment on behalf of Governor Polis, as well as under the stay-at-home orders issued by several Denver-area cities. Under these orders you may leave your home to attend a meeting at our Denver Tech Center office and our staff may travel to the office as well. Currently, though, we are handling most of our business by email and phone calls. Some of our staff are working remotely, but our office is open, we are answering the phone, we have occasional meetings with clients at the office (observing six-foot distances), and we continue to work on pending litigation and business matters for our clients.

Understanding COVID-19 Legislation and Orders

If you have questions about how the new COVID-19 legislation and Colorado state orders apply to your business, or you want to discuss your options in this challenging environment, we can help you navigate the new laws.

We are here for you

You can expect the same attention and high-level service from us. Ensuring the continued delivery of legal services is our top priority. All of us will respond promptly to emails. If you need to speak with someone here who is working remotely, call the office, and we will have that person return your call as soon as possible.

The courts are open, but…

On March 16, 2020, the Colorado Supreme Court entered an order regarding COVID 19 and Operation of Colorado State Courts. The Order suspends certain court operations, including jury calls in all Colorado courts. Except for jury trials, existing judicial deadlines continue in place. Each judicial district is determining how to facilitate court staff working remotely and finding other ways to conduct court business while minimizing or eliminating in-person proceedings and contact. The March 16 Order directs that essential court matters continue as scheduled, such as petitions for temporary and permanent civil protection orders, prosecutions subject to speedy trial requirements, and other expedited proceedings. The Order was updated on March 20 to extend the suspension of jury calls through May 15, 2020, excepting cases with imminent speedy trial deadlines.

A copy of the March 16 Order is available on the home page of the website of the Colorado Supreme Court. A copy of the March 20 Order is available on the home page of the Colorado Judicial Department.

Our workplace is safe

The safety of our staff and visitors is a top priority. Our office has been thoroughly cleaned and the carpet shampooed, and it is disinfected daily. Our staff members ordinarily are located six feet or more apart during the workday, and this continues to be the case. When we are in the office, we observe six-foot distances between each other and will do the same with you.

Workshops

We have temporarily suspended our 2020 free public workshop series while we determine the topics of greatest interest to business owners in the current environment and investigate online options that will allow for safe audience interaction with the speakers
