Andrew Meyer has over 8 years of experience advising businesses and individuals on a variety of transactional and dispute resolution matters. In all cases, he strives to provide straightforward and savvy advice that will help clients efficiently reach long-term legal objectives based on their unique circumstances and goals.

Whether working with established companies or first-time entrepreneurs, Mr. Meyer serves as experienced outside general counsel with a knack for understanding and navigating the nuances of complex business situations. While working on matters including entity formation, corporate governance, employee and independent contractor issues, regulatory compliance, contract drafting and negotiation, collections, and business owner disputes, he focuses on practical, real-world solutions designed to maximize the potential for positive outcomes. He has experience guiding clients across a wide range of industries from cradle to grave, including the process of starting a new company, selling or buying a business, handling client and vendor relationships, and many of the other issues that arise in between.

For transactional matters, Mr. Meyer counsels and assists clients in forming, owning, and operating private and closely held businesses, including selection of the appropriate form of legal entity, capitalization and financing, purchase and sale of assets, joint ventures, intellectual property protection, purchase and sale agreements, employment matters, entity maintenance, real estate acquisition and leasing, contract enforcement, restructuring and recapitalization, and in numerous other areas of business law important to small and medium sized business clients. Mr. Meyer has experience in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing commercial loan, lease, and finance transactions, as well as creating and perfecting liens in all types of tangible and intangible property. He has also helped clients buy and sell, entitle, finance, and develop commercial, residential, and mixed-use real property throughout Colorado. Mr. Meyer has broad experience handling corporate governance issues, structure, control mechanisms, shareholder rights, company policies, fiduciary duties, conflicts of interest, retention and severance, and strategic planning.

In the construction industry, Mr. Meyer also advises clients in all facets of the construction process, from assisting with early project conceptualization, negotiating and drafting design and construction agreements, and resolving disputes. This includes representation of developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and public adjusters, where he helps clients negotiate and resolve permitting issues, change orders, construction delays, scope disputes, construction defects, insurance matters, and payment issues during the construction process to help move the project forward.

In certain situations, Mr. Meyer also assists clients with mediating, arbitrating, and litigating complex disputes as well as representing clients in administrative investigations and hearings before state agencies. His experience in dispute resolution gives him valuable experience and insight into spotting and avoiding potential issues for his business clients.

Mr. Meyer received his law degree with honors in 2016 from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from University of Colorado – Boulder in 2012 with a degree in economics after being inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Prior to joining Moriarty Underhill LLC, Mr. Meyer worked as in-house counsel for a growing food company in Denver, CO, practiced at a prominent real estate and business law firm in Boulder, CO, and also worked in the insurance industry in the Hartford, CT area.

Outside of the office, Mr. Meyer enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time enjoying Colorado’s wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, biking, skiing, fishing, hiking, and camping. After being born in Colorado and raised in Idaho, Mr. Meyer spent his summers growing up working for whitewater rafting companies, and he has paddled class V rapids on rivers throughout the Western United States and in Chile.
