Matt is an Associate Attorney at Moriarty Underhill LLC. He focuses his practice on civil litigation, including mechanic’s liens, contract disputes, arbitrations, business owner disputes, and some larger business litigation.

Matt was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver, with B.A.’s in Criminal Justice and Philosophy and a minor in History. He received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, also earning a Certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies.

During law school, Matt was the co-president of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, a Case Note and Comment Editor on the Denver Law Review, and a research assistant for DU’s Privacy Foundation. He also served as a mock trial coach, an Orientation Leader for new students, and an Academic Achievement Leader for a first-year contracts class. His student comment, Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L.: Keeping Off-Campus Speech Off Limits, was published in the Denver Law Review Forum.

Prior to joining Moriarty Underhill, Matt clerked for the Hon. Karl L. Schock at the Colorado Court of Appeals. While pursuing his law degree, Matt completed internships at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, Colorado Court of Appeals, and Denver City Attorney’s Office. He also interned at a tech transportation company, where he helped handle contracts and data privacy matters.

In his free time, Matt enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and hiking at Colorado’s majestic state parks.
